POLITICAL VIOLENCE IN AMERICA 2025
A List

These are the incidents I am aware of. There may be others that I do not recall.

1. Sept 10: Charlie Kirk, killed by an as-yet unknown shooter.

2. Aug 8: shooting at the headquarters of the Center for Disease Control. One police officer, David Rose, was killed. Patrick White, angry over COVID-19 vaccinations, fired over 180 shots at the CDC buildings, then fatally shot himself.

3. June 14: Melissa Hortman (MN state representative, speaker of the house), with her husband and golden retriever, shot & killed by Vance Luther Boelter.

4. June 14: John Hoffman (MN state senator), with his wife, shot by Vance Luther Boelter. Boelter also went to the home of Kristin Bahner, MN state representative, but she was not home.

5. June 1: in Boulder CO, participants in a march to support Israeli hostages held in Gaza were firebombed by Mohamed Sabry Soliman. Seven marchers were injured and one died from her injuries. Soliman yelled “Free Palestine” during the attack.

6. May 21: Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim were shot & killed outside an embassy event by Elias Rodriguez, who told the police “I did it for Palestine.”

7. April 13: Josh Shapiro (PA Governor) was attacked, along with his wife & children. At 2 am, when the Shapiros retired after their Passover Seder, Cody Ballmer attempted to burn down the Governor’s Mansion with them inside.

In addition, there have been at least three school shootings in 2025, with six deaths.

This list includes only events from 2025. A list of such incidents from 2024 would include two assassination attempts against Donald Trump, the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, and others.
