Churches today are on a constant search for silver bullets.
What program …?
What book …?
What anointed, winsome, wise leader …?
… will lead us to growth & wealth & success?
We don’t seem to have the faith to pray & work humbly & wait for what can only be achieved by a move of the Spirit.
And because enough of America kind-of remembers Christianity, well enough to fake it, a few churches, fortunate in their circumstances & personality & location, can have spectacular (if short-lived) “success”.
And then they can sell their methods & programs to all the other churches who are desperately thinking that maybe THIS (at last!) is the silver bullet they’ve been looking for.
We don’t seem to have the faith to pray & work humbly & wait for what can only be achieved by a move of the Spirit.
