To quote the great theologian Tom Petty, “The waiting is the hardest part.”
You hope God is doing something, or maybe you’re confident: you KNOW God is doing something. But WHAT?
Perhaps I am never still enough often enough long enough to hear God’s voice clearly.
My normal MO is to pick a direction and push, then wait and see what happens. Then push again and wait and see. Then push again and wait and see. Lather, rinse, repeat.
The problem with my approach is that too often I find I’ve climbed part-way up a ladder that was leaning against the wrong wall. I get frustrated with remaking decisions, but remaking decisions seems an inevitability.
I envy people who have a clear vision, who hear the voice of God, who see the idea fully-formed from the outset. That ain’t never happened to me.
So I muddle through, and I ask questions, and I make and remake decisions. And I learn patience.
