Everybody’s complaining about how divided my country is, and everyone is blaming the other guy for the division.

This is what Culture Wars produce. A bunch of people who hate the other side and insist on the rightness of their cause.

Is it possible to get beyond this?

I ask the question knowing that I am guilty of inflammatory rhetoric. I love the snarky line. I love the rush of adrenaline that self-righteousness generates. “Hello, my name is Perry, and I’m addicted to expressing contempt for people who disagree with me.”

God help us. Are we a failed country?
